Here is the plan.  I plan on making beer, both Ale and Lager. I already started with the beer. So far, I have made several varieties of Ale and two varieties of Lager. My best Ale is Long Tail Kolsch Ale and it is great!  In the Lager department, I just have not hit on "The One".  I'll have to keep experimenting.  Here is the problem..... I experiment with batches big enough to fill 54 bottles.  I hardly drink anymore.  The more I experiment, the more beer inventory I build up.  I need help drinking this stuff!  Can you help me?

So, how come Mead?  Until recently I didn't even know what Mead was. I had read about it and formed some ideas about it, but never tasted it.  While at Legs Inn, a restaurant located in Cross Village, MI, my cousin ordered a glass of Mead. I tasted it and loved it.  My cousin loved it.  I shot my mouth off and said that I could make the stuff.  So now, I'm making Mead at home. Don't rush right over to have a sample of Fister's Mead.  The first batch, which is fermenting now,  will not be ready until my birthday in 2010!

Cider??  What's with that?  Well, my late Uncle Bob left me a wine/cider press.  I've restored it to working condition and want to try my hand at making it work.  Cider just sounded like something I could handle for a starter.  I have not had Hard Cider since my college days at Ohio State University.  Wonder if I'll make more than a single batch?

Schnapps!!!  That is a fancy name for a not so fancy liquor originating out of Germany. On my last trip to Germany one of the families offered me some of his homemade schnapps.  It was good, so I think it would be fun to see if I can make some schnapps. Of course, liquor means distillery.  Distillery means still.  So, before I can make the schnapps, I'll have to build a still. If nothing else, this will be a fun project!
