In February of 2006, I bought this Cherokee from a good friend of mine, Don Lake. My intention was to provide an airplane for my kids to fly. My son, Michael, is already a pilot and can really fly this plane well. He'd be able to take the family up flying for pure enjoyment, or use the plane for short trips.  The other kids all expressed an interest in learning to fly. This would be the perfect plane.

My alternative motive for buying this plane was to make it available to my close friend, Kelly Stites, to use in her flight school. The plane is instrument certified and Kelly could use it to train her advanced pilots. On March 1st, 2006,  I transferred ownership of the Cherokee into a corporation I formed for the sole purpose of managing this aircraft as a lease airplane. 84W is leased to  Kelly's Aviation, which now is the busiest Part 61 flight school in Tucson. Besides running a successful flight school, Kelly is also my instructor!  The one I turn to when I need a refresher or need help with my flying.

Whisky belongs to my corporation named, Wings Over Arizona, Inc.  She is one of two airplanes that Wings Over Arizona has owned.  The other airplane was a Cessna 175 Skylark. Whiskey has been a pretty consistent workhorse and many students have learned the art of instrument flying, while behind 84W's control yoke.

From time to time my family either uses the airplane, or I take them out and about in the bird. 84W can carry four of us, in and out of San Manuel Airport with little or no problem. She will move along at a nice rate and is a pretty comfortable plane to fly.

My favorite airplane is the Luscombe 8F (Charley), but if you come to visit, be sure and go for a ride in the Cherokee!  It is a fun plane to fly.

Bright Colors
Have you ever seen a brighter yellow than this?

Just Looks Fast!
A great performer that can carry 4 normal adults, even in the heat of the summer.

What do you think, Kelly?
